The Detectives – Course Book is a suspenseful, story-based textbook. Pupils follow detectives, Tom and Kate, who love adventure. Their everyday world changes as they meet new people, uncover secrets and solve mysteries. Each of the six units in the book presents an engaging problem or a mystery to be solved. Pupils utilize a wide variety of authentic visuals, texts, clues and assessment tasks to help them solve these mysteries. This process takes students from applying lower order thinking skills (LOTS) to higher order thinking skills (HOTS). This program includes:

• Intensive practice of grammar and vocabulary

• A range of text types and scaffolded writing tasks

• A digital platform to provide further interactive review and practice

• Self-assessments at the end of each unit

• Free audio exercises in English Adventure’s website

• All activities include written instructions and are further elaborated along with a full lesson plan in the programs Teacher’s Guide
